Mourning (mourning.io) publishes machine-readable surfaces so AI agents and crawlers can understand the product accurately: a read-only JSON content API described in OpenAPI 3.1, markdown mirrors of every key page, llms.txt, and structured data. Authenticated product APIs, webhooks, and an MCP server are planned alongside the partner marketplace — write to hello@mourning.io for early access.
OpenAPI spec & content API
A read-only, unauthenticated JSON API — guides, markdown page mirrors, and service status — described in OpenAPI 3.1 at /openapi.json with operationIds, typed parameters, and response schemas on every operation. Errors are structured JSON: { error: { code, message, hint } }. Start at GET /api/v1.
llms.txt
An index of every key page with one-line descriptions plus a when-to-use section for agents, in the llmstxt.org format. The best starting point for an agent exploring Mourning.
Markdown content negotiation
Key pages respond to Accept: text/markdown with a markdown mirror (Content-Type: text/markdown; charset=utf-8, Vary: Accept), per the acceptmarkdown.com convention. Markdown variants are also directly addressable under /markdown/<path>.
sitemap.xml & robots.txt
Every public URL, including memorial pages that families have chosen to make public. Crawling is welcome; private family spaces are never exposed.
