Music, photography & livestreaming
The sound in the room, and the room for those who can't be in it.
Musicians (organists, soloists, bagpipers, the person's favorite genre played live), photographers who work funerals with discretion, and livestream operators for the family scattered across time zones. Since 2020, livestreaming has become standard — many funeral homes offer it in-house, and independent videographers provide multi-camera coverage and an edited keepsake film. A recording of the service is one of the most re-watched things a family keeps.
When you’ll need them
Booked as soon as the service is scheduled. Share the livestream link on the memorial page a day ahead.
What it typically costs
Musicians typically $150–$500 per service. Funeral-home livestreams often $100–$500; independent videography $500–$1,500 including an edited recording. Funeral photography typically $300–$800.
Typical U.S. ranges, for orientation only — prices vary widely by region and provider. Always ask for an itemized price list.
Questions worth asking
- Have you worked a funeral before? (Discretion is the skill.)
- Is the livestream private-link, and how long does the recording stay up?
- Can we get the raw recording, not just the edit?
